These tab books are NEVER 100%. I've played for about 22 years and have never found one that is dead-on. That said I'm a life-long Van Halen fan, I'm accustomed to Eddie's style of playing, and I without doubt know when a tab book is wrong.

This book will give you a great starting point--no doubt. Maybe they were in a rush to throw this together but I was very disappointed. I find it easier to read the tab to learn a song than to figure it out by ear. I've only learned a few songs from the album and moderately 'learned' others but plan to learn them 100%.

Here's what I can speak for:
Tattoo: Verse sections are inaccurate but very close--it at least sounds correct. -least favorite song on the album but I've watched him play it live--tab is wrong.
She's the Woman: Seems 100% accurate.
You and Your Blues: Intro is VERY wrong--not at all where Eddie plays it.
China Town: Main riff after tapping intro is wrong. The notes are right, but it's not what/how it's played.
BLOOD AND FIRE: MY FAVORITE OF THE ALBUM. Verse sections are wrong but very close. The tapping section towards the end of the solo are WAAAAYYYYY OFF. Very poor effort at transcribing.
Outta Space: Almost correct with the exception of the tapping section at the beginning of the solo. Very wrong.
Big River and Beats Workin': both 'seem' fine. I have not learned them the whole way through yet but I think they are correct.

Like I said, this book will give you a good starting point. I've never even been a person that is hell-bent on playing a solo note-for-note, but the solos noted above are very wrong. I own several of these tab books including the entire Van Halen catalog, several Zakk Wylde books, Metallica, and others. I'VE HONESTLY NEVER SEEN ONE THIS INACCURATE.

Check out software called Transcribe! which is software that will slow down a solo to a crawl for you to figure it out. You can just import any mp3 file into the software and select how much you want to slow it down. I was able to figure out Blood and Fire and Outta Space solos using this. They offer a 31 day free trial too but I have not bought it (yet).

Wait....1950s recipes...microwave?

SOME of these recipes are NOT from the 1950s "golden age of american home cooking". Some of the recipes, at least the cooking instructions with the recipes, are clearly more modern.

While the book is full of fine and simple 1950s recipes, and has lots of fun, nostalgic 1950s drawings and photos of husbands and wives in the kitchen, or by the backyard barbeque grill. And naturally, (recent, not 1950s) photos of what the food of what its supposed to look like after its been cooked and prepared, I do have a minor quibble. Some of the directions in the recipes (just a few of the recipes, mind you, not all) calls for the cook to use a microwave oven.

I'm looking over these specific recipes and thinking, "wait....1950s recipes? Microwave oven?" Now, I KNOW that microwave ovens were invented well before the 1950s. But by the 1950s, microwave ovens were not yet ready for the everyday home kitchen. By 1971, only about 1% of homes would have microwave ovens (25% by the 1980s). So I'm quite sure that in the 1950s, the average common housewife didnt cook using a microwave oven. They used the usual gas or electric oven (sometimes wood burning oven).

I cannot speak for everybody, but as for myself, I just dont like food that has been cooked by a microwave oven. In my opinion, food is of much better taste and quality when its been cooked in a gas oven. So it was disheartening to find recipes that look very good and that I would like to try (Burgundy Beef Stew is one of a few examples), but I find myself rather hamstrung by the instructions in the recipes that tells me to cook the recipe in a microwave oven.

MOST of the recipes in the book indeed has instructions as to how to cook your recipe using a gas oven. But the ones that call on you to cook in a microwave, they have no alternative instructions in case you would rather cook in a regular gas oven. Its a bit of a disappointment, but other than those few "cook in microwave" recipes, the book is quite good.

Tanner Peschke's father wants him to take over the family's car dealership. However, Tanner's dad is concerned that Tanner doesn't have what it takes to make a profit because Tanner has an annoying habit of buying into every sob story a chick will hand him. With a three month deadline to prove he can turn a profit, Tanner hires Janine, an actress he accidentally got fired, to help him do a series of live "Tarzan and Jane" themed commercials. With each commercial being a total farce, the city takes notice and the two become local celebrities. Janine wants to be taken seriously as an actress and Tanner wants Janine to take him seriously as a love interest. Will these two ever land on the same page?

This was cute! It's definitely trying to get the laughs and sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't, but it's an entertaining read. This is definitely a humor driven contemporary romance, and it's not a *clean* one for those wondering. There are a few sex scenes but they aren't long and really graphically drawn out.

I would say the commercials are probably the best part of the book. As a romance, it's a little bit lacking in that department. Tanner and Janine are fun characters, but we're not going swimming in the deep end of the pool with this. But, this isn't a serious kind of book, it's comedy first and foremost. If you're looking for something lighthearted, cute, simple, and fun to read with a small splash of romance, this should work for you.

Comedic genius - Very funny story and great start to new series

What do you get when you mix a used car sales man and a wanna be actress together - plenty of laugh out loud moments.

Tanner Peschke along with his friends are all billionaire's but chose to keep it to themselves and continue to work normal jobs. On his mother's death bed Tanner promised her that he would stand by his father and that meant running his father's use car dealership even though he hated it. On a trip to buy used cars Tanner runs into Janine literally while she is riding a mechanical bull where she is doing a part time gig which causes her to lose her job. Feeling both sorry for her and realizing he could use her to his advantage he offers her a job in his upcoming commercials for the dealership. What he didnt count on was falling for her.

Janine has had one goal in her life and that is to be an actress. She hasn't had much luck so far so after Tanner gets her fired she figures why not take him up on his offer of doing commercials.

What poor Janine didn't count on was a monkey that gets more than fresh, a boa that takes her breath away or a camel that just runs away with her. But the biggest thing she didn't count on was falling for the handsome used car dealer. Falling in love is not in her plans. As soon as her agent has a deal for her in LA she is gone.

Will these two be able to make it work??????

The secondary characters of Tanner's father and his friend were almost as funny as the disasters of the commercials.

The writers did a fantastic job at making you feel like you were there during all the disasters of the commercials. Your laughing till almost crying. I look forward to reading the rest of the books in this series from these two.

Once you start reading you won't put it down until the end. A great romantic comedy.

Delilah Devlin, and Elle James both write amazing stories. When I heard they teamed up for one I jumped in line to be the first to read it, and I was not disappointed. Tarzan and Janine, is a fun romantic comedy about a used car salesman and a want-to-be actress. It takes you through their hilarious journey to find the love they didn't realize they were looking for. Their path will take you through high flying antics, with a monkey, a snake and even a camel. This book will have you laughing out loud and leave you wanting more. A must read for all.
