Great addition to the series!

Crown Prince Nicholas Lytton was the “spare heir” until his father had a disabling stroke and his older brother was tragically killed in a crash. Now he’s going to be King, so has to give up his previously decadent life style and put his country and people first.
Returning to the palace, he’s intrigued and attracted by the feisty runner with whom he usually races as part of his early morning run. He finds out that she’s the assistant gardener at the palace, Isabel Reynolds, but she has secrets, anxieties and worries. She knows she’s not a ‘suitable match’ for the soon to be king and that she has to keep running away to escape her past. Temptation and love however both have other ideas for them both in this new novel in the Men of the Zodiac series, this time by Robin Covington.
With the burden of royal responsibilities, plotting politicians, obstructive advisors and being attracted to a woman with secrets, Crown Prince Nicholas really has an onerous burden. Unless he can ascertain Isabel’s secrets and help her, their love won’t stand a chance. She’s equally determined to protect him by keeping her troubles to herself. Their interactions with each other and with other characters express their turmoil in an easy to relate to manner, making this one of those stories which totally engage the reader, taking them along with the characters on a fast paced, rip-roaring ride.
This is a great read by a superb author and is a fabulous addition to the series. I have no hesitation in highly recommending this book to anyone who enjoys their romantic novels with plenty of intrigue, political ploys and handsome royalty.

Some things annoyed me overall good.

The Prince’s Runaway Lover is a story of finding the right person who will accept you for who you are and what you’ve done. It’s a fast read with engaging characters that make you want to turn page after page to find out their story.
Let’s talk about Nick, shall we? I loved him. He’s this bad boy royal who was never supposed to be king. But life happens, his brother dies, and now he’s about to be coronated king of a small, but wealthy Mediterranean country. In the midst of all this his staff and mother keep telling him that he’s been away too long, he needs to settle down and find an appropriate wife. Needless to say this doesn’t go over too well because if Nick is anything, he’s stubborn and does what he wants when he wants. A byproduct of being the spare, I’m sure. All in all though, it just endears himself to me.
Through all this he starts a small relationship with a gardener in the palace named Isabel. She stumbles upon him one day jogging and joins him not even realizing he was the Crown Prince. How she doesn’t realize it is beyond me because she works in the palace and should know who is ultimately employing her. But that’s beside the point. Nick finds himself drawn to Isabel. She doesn’t care that he’s a prince which is a refreshing aspect for him. He knows she has her own secrets but he still finds himself falling for her and will do his best to see that she’s his forever.
I didn’t really care for Isabel if I’m being honest. She’s not a bad character and there are parts of her that are very relatable but she just really annoyed him throughout the novel. I did like her attitude towards Nick even though I loathed it so much when she referred to him as ‘Nicky’. Like seriously, I had to change the name in my head while reading because it just distracted me so much. Isabel loved Nick because he was Nick, not because he was a prince.
In the end I enjoyed The Prince’s Runaway Lover. I didn’t really connect to the characters like I would have preferred but that doesn’t mean the story wasn’t enjoyable. It’s a fast and easy read that makes you think about why you like the people you do.

What a bad boy prince he is!

The Men of the Zodiac is a really enjoyable series. This particular title moves away from the Billionaire theme in to Royalty. And even better it has a mysterious and dramatic storyline. Crown Prince Nicholas Lytton is an unconventional prince who is suddenly faced with shouldering the responsibility of an entire country. His early morning runs are an escape from his burdens and they get a lot more interesting when he is joined by a mysteriously silent running partner.
Isabel has a past that she is running from and getting involved with a high profile royal is the last thing she needs. He needs a queen by his side and he is intent on pursuing her. She just wants to hide away from the rest of the world because she knows that she is the key to his ruin.
I really enjoyed how persistent Nick is in his pursuit of her and how much Isabel wants to protect Nick from her history. Things do get rocky for a bit but in the end, there is is a very lovely HEA.
